A strong collective show from all 5 YB teams sets the stage for an incredible 9-1 Start.

The weekend started on Friday night with a close 44x41 win by the YB Power 2032 squad at the Sports Stable over the home team. Read all of the details on this (LINK) post by Coach Scott
The next day there were 9 more games between all YB teams.
YB Power 2030:

With two absolute dominant wins was how the 8th boys squad began the weekend. First there was a 47x23 W versus the Boulder Bulls 8th Black team. The internal presence, skill, and size was simply too much to handle. Between #8 Kolbee, #1 Kam, and #45 Easton, and #20 Callen, there was no answer that the under sized Bulls had to stop that train.
On their second game they faced and taller and physically stronger D'Evelyn team. The green squad hung in there for the first quarter, but it was all dominance from then on. Combo guard #1 James caught fire, #11 small forward PJ had all the moves on the book, and again the YB bigs where just too much to deal with, which ended up in a landslide win of 66x24 to end their day.
YB G-Power 2033:

Up next, the 5 graders also took care of business. Playing up in the 6th grade division, they showed up big and also took home two W's. Once again they showed incredible teamwork which led to a dominant 36x10 win versus PSB 6th where the girls played as a team, shared the ball, and really collaborated well to come out on top. Their second game was against a tall Lady Rough Riders team. The dominance showed again as the ladies defeated them with a comfortable 41x7 win. Despite undersized, the story of this squad has been consistent. A bunch of gritty, aggressive, and hard working young ladies who can all show up and contribute big for the team on any giving game. You never know who is going to be the next on to show up and shine, and that is what makes this squad special.
YB G-Power 2032:

At the risk of sounding repetitive, dominance was the case again for the 6th grade YB ladies. First game came up against a well coached and athletic Lady Blackhawks team. The first half was a great battle between these two hard working teams. Once they flipped sides on the court on the second half, the LBH were quickly in the rear view mirror as the YB Ladies worked their way to a 40x18 victory.
Up next they faced a familiar Golden squad where are tall, athletic, and well coached. Once again due to a slow start, the very first quarter was a close game, but again once they woke up the blazed passed their opponent with a strong 39x11 win.
YB Power 2031:

For the las two games of the weekend it was time for the 7th grade boys to take the stage for a set of two games. The first one was against a familiar opponent which always gives spectators a show when they match up. Riot Squad 7th. In typical fashion, this was a battle of the bigs, where YB's bigs surely came out on top. With very strong performance from #15 Walker leading the way with 18pts and 5 rebounds and #00 Tydus who contributed with 13 pts and 8 rebounds, the boys secured a comfortable 43x28 win.
The second game was again another great matchup versus the always strong Mile High Elite 7th. A well coached team who battle hard and push the YB Boys to work hard. The first half, while both teams matched up man-to-man was a perfectly even battle with the scoreboard showing 20x20 at the half. Mile High switched to a 2-3 zone defense for the whole second half. Add that to a very low percentage shooting from the whole team, and the first loss of the weekend came for YB at 43x35.
All in all the 9-1 start for the winter league is a very SOLID one and the group is sure looking to continue their work to stay at the top of the standings and continue to compete as a team. Thank you to all the parents, families, grandparents, and friends who came to show love and support to all YB Players this weekend. Get ready, we have 7 more games next weekend and we are looking for more battles and hard work from all.
