2032 Boys Kick-Off Winter Season with a Pair of W's

Power 6th kicked off the winter season Friday night with a 44-41 victory over the Rough Riders at the Sports Stable. The game featured multiple lead changes and clutch performances throughout all four quarters, showcasing the team's resilience and balanced scoring attack.


Aiden led the charge in the first quarter, scoring 4 points on efficient 2-for-3 shooting to help Power 6th match the Rough Riders' energy and end the period tied 8-8. The second quarter saw explosive offensive play from both sides, with Case #23 stepping up as the period's leading scorer with 6 points, including a crucial three-pointer that tied the game 11-11. Chase B #24 also contributed a key three-pointer during a strong Power 6th run, but the teams remained deadlocked 22-22 at halftime.


Power 6th began to assert control in the third quarter, with Chase B #24 providing steady scoring and clutch free throws to help build a 31-29 advantage heading into the final frame. The fourth quarter delivered high drama as the lead changed hands multiple times. With the game on the line, Power 6th's depth and teamwork shined through as multiple players made crucial contributions - Zay #10 hit a go-ahead basket, Aiden #12 knocked down a key two-pointer to reach double digits, and Chase B also reached 10 points with timely scoring.


The victory was truly a team effort, with Chase B #24 Aiden #12 finishing with 10 points to lead the balanced attack. Case #23 added 9 points with excellent shooting efficiency, while Zay contributed 7 points on an impressive 3-for-5 shooting performance. Chase S #15 chipped in 5 points, including a clutch fourth-quarter basket that helped seal the win. The team showed tremendous composure down the stretch, making key free throws and defensive stops to secure this well-earned victory.

2032 continued their run into the weekend where they met the Eagles on Saturday in a matchup at the Courts. The game started perfectly for Power 6th as they raced out to a commanding 17-4 halftime lead behind stellar shooting performances. Aiden #12 was absolutely lights-out from beyond the arc, connecting on all three of his three-point attempts (3-3, 100%) to finish with 9 points. Chase S #15 was equally impressive with perfect shooting from the field (3-3, 100%) for 6 points, while Marley #7 knocked down a crucial three-pointer as part of his team-high 10-point performance. The balanced attack and hot shooting had Power 6th in complete control through the first three quarters, extending their lead to 26-13.


The fourth quarter became a test of character as the Eagles mounted a furious comeback, scoring 14 consecutive points to cut the deficit to just 29-27. However, when the pressure was at its peak, Aiden #12 calmly drained his third three-pointer of the game to give Power 6th some breathing room at 29-13 early in the quarter. With the game on the line, it was team leader Marley #7 who stepped up to the free-throw line and coolly sank both attempts to seal the victory.

The 2032 team will continue to work on reducing turnovers and mental errors, but proved they could come out ahead in two very close games for a great start to the season.
