It was a pleasure to watch these boys play a set of very strong and unselfish games on Saturday evening as they wrap up the Fall League Regular season showing that they are a strong contender.

After a slow and frustrating start to the season that saw them drop their first two games in the opening round, the YBP'31 squad refused to let early adversity define their story. Instead, they regrouped, focused, and began playing the brand of YB basketball they knew they were capable of — fast, fearless, and full of energy. What followed was an incredible six-game winning streak that completely changed the tone of their season. Each week they looked sharper, more connected, and more confident in their execution. By the time the final two games of the regular season arrived, they were a completely different squad — dominant, composed, and clicking in every phase of the game. They closed out with two massive 20-plus point victories (61 x 39 vs Eagles and a 46 x 20 vs. Box State Ballers) that sent a message to everyone watching: this team had found its identity.
Their most recent matchup against the Eagles was a showcase of everything they’d been working toward. From the opening tip, Kyree, the team’s dynamic point guard, controlled the pace and flow of the game like a true floor general. His confidence was on full display as he weaved through defenders, attacked the basket with ease, and dropped in smooth floaters and midrange jumpers all night. Tydus, their electrifying small forward, turned defense into offense repeatedly, sprinting coast-to-coast after steals and rebounds for explosive finishes at the rim. His speed, control, and relentless energy ignited the team and kept the crowd on its feet. Meanwhile, Walker, the team’s powerful center, dominated the boards from start to finish, grabbing rebounds in traffic, protecting the paint, and cleaning up second-chance points with authority. He was the steady anchor that allowed the guards to play freely and aggressively, knowing the paint was under control.
But this was about the whole squad—players coming off the bench with hustle (Aiden delivered strong minutes with tough defense and unselfish offense with strong finishes and even a swish 3pt to seal the deal), diving for loose balls, rotating on defense, and cheering for each other every possession. The team communication was strong, the energy contagious, and the chemistry undeniable. Every player contributed in some way, whether it was hitting key shots, making extra passes, or locking down on defense. They played with confidence, discipline, and joy—traits that hadn’t been as visible early in the season but now shined bright. By the time the games were called early at the two-minute mark, the lead was well in hand, and the team had once again proven that they could dominate when they played their game.
Now, heading into the quarterfinals on October 25th at Gold Crown @4:00pm, they’ll face the same Eagles team again—but this time, the tone will be different. This group is no longer the one that stumbled out of the gate; they’re seasoned, tested, and hungry. They’ve learned how to handle pressure, how to trust each other, and how to play to their strengths. The fire that was sparked after those early losses has grown into something powerful—momentum, unity, and belief—and now, all eyes are on them as they look to carry that energy deep into the postseason.
