With 3 losses by exactly 2 points each, the number on the W-L columns does not do justice to what this team has been cooking up! And that's OK!

Despite being together for only a few short months with the integration of three new additions (Kaeson, Kam, and Kolbee) to the roster of four soldiers (Callen, PJ, James, Easton) who were grinding away last year, trusting the process, and setting the stage for the '25-'26, the YBP'30 squad has already proven they are a true force to be reckoned with.
Chemistry takes time for most teams, but this group found it quickly through grit, trust, and shared purpose. Even with limited time to gel, they’ve shown an impressive ability to adapt and play selfless basketball, emphasizing teamwork over individual glory. What’s even more remarkable is how they’ve performed when shorthanded — often going into games missing key players yet never backing down from the challenge. Each loss they endured was hard-fought, marked by hustle, resilience, and the kind of effort that earns respect from coaches and opponents alike. And when they did have their full squad on the floor — just twice during the regular season — they were unstoppable, winning both games convincingly and showing flashes of just how dangerous they can be when complete.

Now that the regular season has come to a close, excitement is building within the team as they prepare for the playoff round with plans to have all seven 8th graders suited up and ready to go. The confidence within the group is sky-high, and there’s a shared hunger to compete for the top spot and finish what they started. They’ve learned through the ups and downs that every possession matters, that heart and chemistry can make up for size or numbers, and that they are capable of going toe-to-toe with anyone in the league.
More than anything, they’re eager for another shot at the teams that handed them those narrow defeats earlier in the season — not out of revenge, but to prove how far they’ve come and how much stronger they’ve grown together. With improved cohesion, balanced scoring, and a deep sense of belief, this team is stepping into the playoffs with purpose, ready to make noise, and fully aware that when all seven pieces are available, they’re a tough matchup for anyone standing in their way.
About Saturday Night....
The YB Power 2030 squad closed out their season in emphatic fashion, delivering two convincing wins. One vs. Premier (58 x 32) one against a extremely well-coached, disciplined, and talented Rise team (46 x 26). Rise is known for their structure — they can shoot, pass, and defend at a high level — which makes every meeting between these two programs a real test of execution and composure. The win against Rise is always more special due to the respect and mutual admiration between Coach Cass and Coach DJ, two leaders who have built their teams on effort, fundamentals, accountability, sportsmanship, and respect for the game. Every matchup between them feels like a chess game, but this latest one was a masterpiece for YB Power. From the moment warmups began, the boys were locked in — calm, focused, and completely dialed into the task ahead: avenge their earlier loss to Rise from a couple of months back. They played with intent and precision, showing growth, chemistry, and an edge that only comes from trusting each other and the system.
Inside, Kam and Easton were unstoppable. Kam, the team’s dynamic power forward, brought relentless energy and toughness, attacking the rim, dominating the boards, and playing fearless defense. His effort set the tone for the rest of the group. Easton used his length, discipline, and excellent timing to control the paint, protect the rim, and clean up everything on the glass. Together, they owned the interior and made it nearly impossible for Rise to find easy points inside. Kam’s performance was one for the highlight reel — he found his way to the basket with ease, powered through contact, and even stepped out to bury a confident three-pointer that pushed the lead out for good.

Then there was James, on Saturday night he was the heartbeat and floor general of this talented group. A flashy yet focused combo guard, James has grown tremendously this season under Coach Cass’s guidance. The coaching staff has high expectations for him — and for good reason. His energy dictates the team’s rhythm; when he’s engaged, the whole group elevates. And on this night, James was laser-sharp. His concentration resembled that of a sniper on a mission — locked in on every possession, communicating on defense, and embracing every piece of feedback with maturity and purpose. His decision-making, pace, and leadership were top-tier, and his composure rippled through the team. By the end of the night, YB Power 2030 had done more than just win; they had made a statement. They had shown that when they play with unity, focus, and intensity, they can compete with anyone and take down most. It was a fitting way to wrap up the regular season — a showcase of talent, discipline, and growth — and a reminder that YB Power 2030 is built for big moments and ready for whatever challenge comes next. And up next, single Elimination Playoff for that top spot. See you all @3:00pm at The Courts Sports Complex in Northglenn on Oct. 25th for another promising showdown between YB Power 2030 vs Rise 8th.
