YB Power 2032 JPS Pre-Season Day 2

The 6th grade team had a busy day on Saturday, as they completed pool play and advanced to the championship bracket.


The day started rough, with a matchup against a strong State 38 team. Playing without Case, Aiden, and Sam the team fought hard but ultimately lost 56-32 despite some strong individual performances.


Elle #0 led the way offensively with an impressive 11-point performance, showcasing excellent shooting efficiency by connecting on 4 of 6 field goal attempts, including a perfect 1-for-1 from three-point range and 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Power 6th got off to a promising start with Elle opening the scoring, but State 38 quickly responded with a 9-point run to take control early in the first quarter. The team showed resilience throughout the game, with Zay #10 contributing 8 points on outstanding 4-of-5 shooting, while Em #6 added 6 points with efficient 2-of-3 field goal shooting and perfect free throw accuracy.

The fourth quarter highlighted the team's fighting spirit and offensive potential, as Power 6th put together their best scoring stretch of the game. Tucker #11 connected on a clutch three-pointer as part of his 5-point effort, while Trin #8 contributed with a solid field goal, demonstrating the team's depth and willingness to keep competing. Though State 38 maintained their lead throughout, Power 6th's ability to find scoring from multiple players and continue battling until the final buzzer would pay dividends later in the day.


Solid rebounding and ball movement leads to an open look for Tucker

In the semifinal matchup 2032 pulled off an impressive 51-44 victory over the top seeded Premier. The team showcased exceptional shooting accuracy and balanced scoring throughout the contest, with multiple players stepping up to contribute to this exciting win.


The game began with Power 6th taking immediate control, jumping out to a 6-0 lead behind early baskets from Chase S #15 and Lila #31. Though Premier responded to cut the deficit, Power 6th maintained their advantage and led 12-7 after the first quarter, with Marley #7 contributing 7 points including a clutch three-pointer. The second quarter saw Power 6th pull away decisively, going on a tremendous run to build a commanding 32-15 halftime lead. Sam #3 and Chase S #15 were particularly effective during this stretch, with Sam draining a three-pointer and Chase adding both a three and a two-pointer while shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the field.


Power 6th continued to control the game in the third quarter, extending their lead to 39-26 behind Marley's continued stellar play. The fourth quarter brought some drama as Premier mounted a late comeback attempt, scoring 11 straight points to cut the deficit to just five points. However, Power 6th showed great composure down the stretch, with Em #6 contributing crucial baskets and Trin #8 sealing the victory with two free throws.


The standout performance of the night belonged to Marley #7, who was absolutely unstoppable with 20 points on perfect 9-for-9 shooting from the field, including 2-for-2 from three-point range. The team's shooting was remarkable overall, with Em #6, Chase S #15, and Sam #3 each contributing 7 points while shooting 100% from the field. A solid team effort leading to a bid for the championship vs. B&B.



2032 fell just short vs B&B in a game that featured multiple lead changes and momentum swings that kept fans on the edge of their seats. After falling behind early, Power 6th fought back to tie the game 11-11 at the end of the first quarter behind Elle #0's three-pointer and solid contributions from multiple players. B&B managed to maintain a slim 20-19 advantage at halftime, but the real fireworks came in the second half.


The third quarter belonged to Em #6, who put together a spectacular performance by scoring 9 points in the period, including a crucial stretch where she scored 6 straight points to help Power 6th take a 34-31 lead. Her dominant quarter was part of an outstanding overall game where she finished with 16 points on an impressive 7-9 shooting (78%) from the field. Sam #3 also came up big with perfect three-point shooting, going 2-2 from beyond the arc and finishing with 8 points, while Marley #7 was flawless from the field (2-2) and knocked down a clutch three-pointer late in the game.


Emery was unstoppable all day in the paint

The fourth quarter was a nail-biter as B&B mounted a comeback with an 8-point scoring streak to regain the lead. Power 6th showed great composure as Marley #7 hit a go-ahead three-pointer to put them up 42-41, but B&B answered with a three-pointer of their own for the final margin. Despite the tough loss, Power 6th demonstrated the kind of resilience and teamwork that will serve them well moving forward, with five different players contributing to the scoring effort and multiple players stepping up to deliver under pressure.
